Project outline

Salford University’s Media City Campus is based within the Orange Building and has radio broadcasting facilities at level 3. New rooms were constructed which included a new ‘Live’ room, a control room and ‘Software Support’ facility. The mechanical installations were designed to achieve the stringent noise level criteria for such facilities.

Project outcomes

The project included the provision of new fan coil units, new pipework and ductwork including modifications and coordination of the existing mechanical and electrical services including sprinklers. Electrical services included fire alarm modifications, door access control and new lighting systems. The provision of small power and data facilities for the specialist broadcasting equipment within the three zones. Ventilation systems to the ‘Live Room’ were designed to achieve NR/NC 20.
